(7) Proverbs 4:20-27
[The whole part of our body, follow the ways of the Lord]
Emphasis:
~ V.23 - Guards our hearts (above all the parts)
~ V.20 - Ears, V.24 - Mouths, V.25 - Eyes, V.26 - Feet
~ V.27 - Do not be distracted from Godly things
(8) Proverbs 6:20 - 7:27
- King of Solomon has gone through adultery himself
- Adultery is a grievous sin
[1] Destroy sanctity of marriage / holy union of man and wife
[2] Severs relationship between husband and wife
[3] Destroy the whole family relationship
[4] Causes much bitter fights relating to properties and children's ownership
(9) Practical Applications
~ Proverbs 6:1-11
~ V.1-5 - Do not make a pledge for anyone
- Do not be a guarantor
- It will cause us to be in debts
~ V.6-11 - Do not be lazy / slothful
- a sluggard is a lazy person
- work hard and do not be a sluggard
- ants are very hard-working (24 hours)
- to be honest to show integrity in our lives
- everyone needs to take up our responsibility
~ V.12-15 - Wicked ways of the sluggards
~ V.16-19 - Six things that God hates but seven
[1] haughty / proud eyes
[2] lying tongue to speak the truth
[3] hands that shed innocent blood / kill people
[4] hearts that devices wicked plans
[5] feets that quick to evil
[6] false witness who pours our lies
[7] sow discords among brothers and sisters
